Finding an Investment Advisor: RFP Template and Helpful Resources
Many MIE members enlist the help of an investment advisor to assist with the management of their advisory services to grow and support their organization's mission-related investing. Selecting an advisor begins with an in-depth Request for Proposals (RFP) that allows organizations to clearly state their values, needs, and expectations.
To further strengthen our network and share learnings from our membership, MIE has adapted an RFP template with the help of our members and extensive support and contribution from The Phillips Foundation. This template is intended to guide foundations in their outreach to investment advisors. We have and will continue to adapt it based on member feedback. Below are some additional resources to help foundations in the search for an investment advisor:
- A report by The Investment Integration Project on conducting due diligence in the search for an investment advisor
- A Q&A with Jessie Smith Noyes Foundation on their search for an investment advisor
- A white paper on takeaways from Jessie Smith Noyes Foundation's search for an investment advisor
