MIE's Deep Dive on Deals: Due Diligence and Lessons Learned at the Intersection of Affordable Housing and Commercial Development
10:30 a.m. PT / 1:30 p.m. ET
Thursday, Oct. 17
The second session for our Affordable Housing Month will feature a housing-focused “Deep Dive on Deals.” Mission Investors Exchange (MIE) will moderate a presentation by The Barra Foundation on their catalytic investment in the Kensington Corridor Trust (KCT.) The Barra Foundation has provided both grant and investment capital to KCT, which works closely with residents and stakeholders in the Kensington neighborhood of Philadelphia to drive stability and economic prosperity through an innovative model for community-controlled development. At the intersection of affordable housing and commercial development, this conversation will highlight challenges and opportunities within due diligence processes, impact metrics, and strategies for collaborative investments.
MIE members should log in to register for the events above. If you have questions or challenges with registration, topic suggestions, or if you are not an MIE member but would like to attend, please contact Madeline Moerk.
Post-Election Analysis: Examining the Policy Landscape for Mission-Aligned Investing
10:30 a.m.-Noon PT / 1:30-3 p.m. ET
Tuesday, Nov. 19
Join MIE for a special program where experts will share insights on how changes in the White House and Congress could affect mission-aligned investing. This Virtual Learning Opportunity (VLO) will explore potential shifts in the field, key trends to watch, and steps philanthropy can take in the interim. The program will focus on policies and trends that could influence impact investing, with an emphasis on how foundations and philanthropic asset owners can continue deploying capital to deepen their impact.
Stay connected with the MIE team as we travel to various meetings and conferences across the country. We'd love to see you in person, engage in insightful discussions, and explore new collaborations. Mark your calendar, and reach out to Zineb Touzani to set up a meeting.
As you approach a busy time of year, we would like to help you sort through some of the emails you are receiving from MIE. Please take time to participate and stay engaged with us! And do reach out to Member Experience Coordinator Madeline Moerk with any questions.
