MIE's Community Foundations Fall Gathering: Blended Finance Models for Greater Impact

Tuesday, Nov. 12, 2024
9:45-11 a.m. PT / 12:45-2 p.m. ET

Join fellow Mission Investors Exchange members for an engaging virtual gathering on Blended Finance Models for Greater Impact. Blended finance has become an increasingly important tool for aligning capital from different sectors—philanthropic, public, and private—to address complex social challenges. For community foundations and other mission-driven investors, blending finance can unlock new opportunities for scale and sustainability, while also ensuring that more equitable and impactful solutions are prioritized.

This gathering will explore how community foundations and other philanthropic investors can leverage blended finance models to create greater impact in their local communities and beyond. We’ll discuss various strategies, including de-risking capital, building partnerships, and identifying catalytic opportunities to crowd in private investment. The session will highlight examples of successful collaborations and innovative financial structures that have driven transformative social change.Whether you are new to the world of blended finance or an experienced practitioner, this gathering will provide practical insights and frameworks for understanding the opportunities and challenges of these models. Participants will have the chance to engage with peers and learn from experts who have deep experience in leveraging blended finance for social good.

Our featured expert spark for this session is Rebecca Price, Senior Director of Impact Investing at The Boston Foundation. Rebecca will share her experience leading blended finance initiatives, including key lessons learned from working with cross-sector partners to amplify impact and generate lasting outcomes.

Register today and join the conversation with fellow mission investors as we explore the potential of blended finance models to drive greater social and environmental impact! If there is an additional topic concerning community foundations you’d like us to cover, please email Obi Asiama at oasiama@missioninvestors.org and Madeline Moerk at [email protected].
