MIE's Community Foundation Summer Gathering — Simplifying Success: Refining Your Investing Practices
10:30-11:45 a.m. PT / 1:30-2:45 p.m. ET
Tuesday, Aug. 13
Join us for an exclusive virtual gathering of MIE Community Foundation members. This special summer session focuses on refining your community foundation’s investment practices and will provide space for MIE members and invited guests to engage in dynamic discussion around essential tools, such as mission-related investments, revolving loan funds, and equity investments in local businesses.
Our distinguished host, Laura Kernaghan, Senior Director of Investments at The Chicago Community Trust, will open the session, offering her expertise on a range of critical topics including endowment allocations, ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) screening, and place-based investment strategies.
MIE members should log in to register for the events above. If you have questions or challenges with registration, topic suggestions for future gatherings, or if you are not an MIE member but would like to attend, please contact Madeline Moerk. Being on-camera and fully engaged is encouraged. Our gatherings are not recorded due to the community-building and informal nature of the calls.
MIE is partnering with the American Evaluation Association
We are excited to partner with the American Evaluation Association Social Finance TIG for this webinar: Investing, Impact and Public Policy: Role for Evaluators on Wednesday, Sept. 25, from 9-10 a.m. PT / Noon-1 p.m. ET. We invite you to learn more about recent finance-related public policies that require companies to report their environmental and social impacts. You will not want to miss this webinar featuring a conversation with global sustainability leader Tim Mohin, Partner and Director at Boston Consulting Group, moderated by John Sherman, Impact Advisor at Sherman Impact Consulting. Webinar attendees will leave with a better understanding of these ESG rules and how they affect and offer opportunities for evaluators and impact measurement and management (IMM) practitioners.
We are excited to partner with 100 Women in Finance for its 2024 Impact Investing Symposium Oct. 1 in New York City. The program will feature keynote speakers, panel discussions, and roundtables focused on key investing for impact developments, best practices, analytics, implementation, and much more. This unique program brings the speakers from the stage to small group breakouts, allowing attendees to engage in interactive topical discussion with industry experts. Attendees will have the opportunity to participate in multiple 30-minute Table Topics at the Symposium.
