Mission Investors Exchange (MIE) is pleased to announce the 2025 Mission Investing Institute. As MIE’s signature introductory learning program, our Institute is designed to help philanthropy professionals get started in impact investing or advance their practice.

The Institute will take place  from May 5-7 at the Russell Innovation Center for Entrepreneurs in Atlanta. It will also include an introductory session taking place virtually on April 29 and an optional visit to a successful impact investment site in Atlanta on May 5. Institute sessions will provide philanthropy professionals with best practices to develop the strategy and capacity for an effective mission-aligned investing program. Participants should expect an action-oriented, interactive learning environment, with space to workshop organizational solutions, apply learnings, and network with fellow philanthropy and finance practitioners.

In Case You Missed It

Solutions for the Affordable Housing Crisis
In the first session of MIE's Affordable Housing Month, we hosted "How Impact Investing Can Help Solve the Affordable Housing Crisis." Attendees gained insights into the root causes of housing insecurity and the impact of systemic housing inequities on BIPOC communities. The session emphasized the importance of shifting decision-making power toward individuals with lived experience as a critical step to building stronger, more resilient communities. The second event in this series, "MIE’s Deep Dive on Deals: Due Diligence and Lessons Learned at the Intersection of Affordable Housing and Commercial Development," featured The Barra Foundation’s catalytic investment in the Kensington Corridor Trust’s community-driven development model. Resources from both sessions are now available in our library, with recordings coming soon.
