Participate in the Impact Investing Internal Practice Survey |
In partnership with the Doris Duke Foundation, MIE has launched its first internal practice survey for philanthropic asset owners including foundations, corporations, and family offices. The survey results will shed light not only on the impact investments being made but on how decisions get done to move impact capital. If you would like to participate in this survey and receive a copy of the subsequent report, please email Melanie Audette with the subject line “Internal Practice Survey” by Wednesday, May 3, for a unique link to share with others in your organization. The survey will take approximately 30 minutes and is due by Friday, May 12. |
Field News Member Spotlight |
Builders Initiative and Social Finance released a new report, "Breaking Barriers: A Practical Guide to Unlocking Foundation Endowments for Mission and Returns." Written for leaders of foundations, high-net-worth family offices, and their board members, the report identifies common barriers and opportunities associated with mission-related investments (MRIs). MRIs are impact oriented, often market-rate, investments made from a foundation's endowment to advance its mission. |

In Case You Missed It |
On April 13, MIE co-hosted a webinar on “Innovating for Equity in an Uncertain Economy: The State of Social Justice Impact Investing” with Founders First Capital Partners, Impact Alpha, and Rockefeller Philanthropy Advisors. Catalytic investors and BIPOC fund managers discussed the use of creative capital solutions–such as non-dilutive revenue-based financing, employee-led buyouts, and entrepreneurship through acquisition–to bring tailored capital to scale growing companies. |
