Open Mic: Integrating Racial Equity into Investment Policy Statements

Members Only Webinar: Log In To View Investment Policy Statements!

Join us for an Open Mic conversation on Thursday, July 29, 2021 at 2PM ET that will explore integrating racial equity in your Investment Policy Statement (IPS). During this informal conversation, we will discuss how to increase intentionality around racial equity in investing by updating Investment Policy Statements. This Open Mic is for MIE members looking to embed racial equity into their IPS as well as those who would like to share strategies to infuse racial equity into their IPS.

Open Mics are lightly structured, webcam-enabled calls for MIE members to come together and discuss ideas and opportunities to create impact. Intended to be flexible, Open Mics embody the goal of mobilizing with urgency, employing a simple concept:
  • What ideas, projects, or resources exist within the MIE community — and how can we help each other respond to urgent crises?
  • How can we work quickly to;bring together a variety of voices, investment opportunities, and best practices in an action-oriented conversation?
Open Mics are open to MIE members and invited guests. Members, log in to view shared Investment Policy Statements. If you are not an MIE member and would like to attend, or have challenges accessing registration information, please contact Zineb Touzani at [email protected].

Call for Investment Policy Statements
MIE is looking to expand our shared IPS resources to assist investors looking to champion racial equity in their investment decisions. These documents generally outline the goals that a foundation seeks in their investments and the strategies that should be used to achieve those goals. In addition to asset allocation, risk tolerance and liquidity goals, the investment policy statement can also, and often does, include goals specific to the type of impact that a foundation hopes to achieve. To share IPS with MIE, please email us at [email protected].
