Making Space for Community Voice in Impact Measurement and Management (IMM)
An In-Person MIE Member Gathering in Coordination with the American Evaluation Association’s Social Impact Topical Interest Group
Wednesday, October 23, 2024
11:30 a.m. -1:30 p.m. PT
Offices of Meyer Memorial Trust, Portland Oregon
Join Mission Investors Exchange and the American Evaluation Association’s Social Impact Topical Interest Group for an interactive lunch session about IMM, its impact on communities, and efforts to advance equity in internal IMM practices at foundations.
Although the measurement and evaluation disciplines are well established in foundations and other grantmaking organizations, the past 30 years have brought about opportunities for more mission-driven investments, and more recognition of the need to recraft processes as more inclusive of investee voice and leadership. Measurement & Evaluation and IMM professionals play a key role moving forward in assessing immediate and long-term impact and creating communities of belonging.
In this multi-disciplinary panel conversation built to complement the AEA conference taking place in Portland, investors, evaluators, and others working directly with community members will provide perspective on the current efforts to include IMM thoughtfully into their practice, what’s next for IMM, and who should be at the table while talking about impact and results. Of particular emphasis will be the impact of IMM in a place-based context, including policy goals and implications.
