United States Mid-Century Strategy for Deep Decarbonization

The United States has set out a long-term vision for achieving emission reductions of 80 percent or more by 2050 while meeting growing demands on our energy system and lands, maintaining a thriving economy, and ensuring economic opportunity for all Americans. This technical document illustrates pathways to straight-line emission reduction pathway and acknowledges that without reduction, the most vulnerable populations will be the ones most impacted by health problems predicted to result from unchecked climate change. Emission reduction and CO2 removal technologies offer opportunities for market-based investment and social leadership.
