The California Wellness Foundation: Aligning Our Values with Our Dollars

The California Wellness Foundation strategically aligns its endowment to advance health and wellness in California through mission-related investments (MRIs) and program-related investments (PRIs). Since 2017, the foundation has committed 100% of its endowment to MRIs, totaling $48 million, to support underserved communities and promote equity and diversity. Additionally, the foundation plans to invest $40 million in PRIs over five years to provide capital for affordable housing and small-business lending in disinvested areas, complementing its grantmaking efforts.
