About the Role

The Foundation is happy to announce the opening for Senior Officer, Impact Investing. The Senior Officer is responsible for all aspects of CHF’s Impact Investing program in cooperation with the Senior Director of Impact Investing. Alongside traditional grantmaking, CHF leverages impact investing to advance its mission. Annually, the Foundation expects to execute 15-20 impact investing partnerships and to invest $10-$30 million. 
 

Key Responsibilities

  • Underwrite and manage diverse investments (grants, loan guarantees, PRIs, MRIs) in line with CHF’s mission and Investment Policy Statement (IPS). 
  • Build and maintain relationships with consultants, intermediaries, and legal/financial partners. 
  • Collaborate with program officers to identify high-impact opportunities. 
  • Lead and facilitate CHF’s impact investing loan committee, the Impact Investing Workgroup, to approve and/or expand community partnerships. 
  • Monitor portfolio performance and address issues. 
  • Oversee annual updates to the Investment Policy Statement. 
  • Design and deliver training and host convenings to advance field thought leadership. 
  • When appropriate, share relevant learnings with CHF staff and board, as well as peer foundations’ staff and their boards of directors interested in learning more about impact investing. 
  • Learn and live into CHF’s mission, cornerstones, culture, and organizational structure. 
  • Combine entrepreneurial energy with disciplined action for large and small tasks.   
  • Actively engage communities across Colorado while conveying professionalism and authenticity when representing CHF.  
  • Work independently, while exercising effective time management 
  • Approach the work with a spirit of collaboration with cross-functional team members 
  • Model strong relationship development and management skills, including self and role awareness, skillfully navigating difficult conversations, and regularly seeking and delivering constructive feedback.  
  • Demonstrates confidentiality, attention to detail, and accuracy in record-keeping, while fostering collaboration through strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. 
  • Proactively develop a deep understanding of the communities we serve, including communities of color, rural communities, and neighborhoods or regions that face the greatest health inequities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent professional experience that would prepare for the work of community engagement and advancing health equity through racial justice. 
  • 8 years’ experience directly applicable to health philanthropy or health related work, which includes 5 years’ experience in philanthropy or related field  
  • 3 years’ experience with partnership development and/or arranging various structures of financial support for organizations serving communities in need.  
  • Demonstrated knowledge and expertise in financial analysis, underwriting and assessing risk, and making/monitoring a range of investments that ultimately serve communities in need.  
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office suite  
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills 
  • Valid Colorado Driver’s License
