Philanthropic asset owners are increasingly engaging in direct investing instead of using intermediaries such as a community development financial institution or venture fund. Even so, direct investing is still often avoided due to the difficulties of sourcing, diligence, monitoring, and responsibly exiting from a for-profit or nonprofit corporation. 

Mission Investors Exchange is pleased to present, "Direct investing by philanthropic investors: How to responsibly invest and exit?" This Virtual Learning Opportunity (VLO) explores the intricacies of direct investing and responsible exits in impact investing. Our experts will share their stories around deal sourcing, mission considerations, investment underwriting, legacy preservation, and ethical transitions. Join us as we uncover for you actionable knowledge to achieve investment and social return through direct investments but also uphold your organization's values as you exit.

Catalytic Capital Consortium
The Catalytic Capital Consortium (C3) has launched its website, sharing all of C3's public knowledge resources. MIE is proud to participate in the C3 Grantmaking program geared to fund organizations increasing the knowledge, awareness, and use of catalytic capital among a diverse set of investors globally, with a focus on identifying and sharing best practices.

MIE's Health Investors Winter Gathering: Growing and Refreshing Your Impact Investing Program
MIE hosted our first member gathering for the year with the Health Investors Winter Gathering on Jan. 17. Joined by Rachel Ryan from Dogwood Health Trust and Patrick Briaud from Rockefeller Philanthropy Advisors, members got an in-depth look into Dogwood’s impact investing journey, along with tips and tricks for sourcing investments and engaging expert help for investment strategy development. As a way for investors to meet others in the health space, these gatherings offer a virtual space for attendees to learn together and share strategic and innovative practices. We encourage fellow health investors to save the date for our Summer Gathering from 1:30-2:45 p.m. ET June 4.
