As the summer winds down, we're all looking ahead to the highlights lined up for the rest of this year. Top of mind for us at MIE is our 2022 National Conference from December 5 to 7, when we'll finally get to connect in person with leaders in the field. This week will mark 100 days until the conference. What are you looking forward to most about MIE's 2022 National Conference? Our conference co-chairs explain what excites them about this year's gathering.

Webinar: Impact in the Balance - Refreshing the Toolkit September 21, 2022

The events of recent years sparked a cross-sector reckoning, as major institutions recognize the need to step up and do more to support the public good. In this webinar, the U.S. Impact Investing Alliance will launch a new report on how foundations can use their balance sheets to achieve impact alongside grant and investment programs. Hear from field leaders and innovators about considerations for implementing emerging tools and strategies for impact, such as social bonds and guarantees. SoCal Grantmakers 2022 Annual Conference September 20, 2022
9:00-5:00pm PT
Join MIE in Los Angeles for this year's Southern California Grantmakers (SCG) Conference, "Narrative Power: Reframe Stories, Redefine Culture." MIE’s Melanie Audette will facilitate the "Redefining the Narrative and Challenging the Fallacies of Impact Investing" session, which will interrogate the prioritization of financial performance over deep impact and long-held beliefs around risk. Speakers will include MIE member Amy Chung of The California Endowment and Erika Seth Davies of Racial Equity Asset Lab and Rhia Ventures. We are pleased to extend to MIE members, on behalf of SCG, discount pricing for this event. Please contact Zineb Touzani at [email protected] for more information.
MIE will host an opportunity for graduates of our Mission Investing Institute to convene at the conference. Please reach out to Melanie Audette at [email protected] if you will be attending and would like to get together with fellow graduates.
