About the Role
The Vice President, Global Impact Officer will be a transformative leader responsible for designing, implementing, and continuously improving Echoing Green's programmatic offerings. Grounded in our strategic five-year vision and informed by robust survey feedback, this role will drive initiatives across capital provision, community engagement, and capacity building. The successful candidate will ensure our programs not only respond to current challenges but also anticipate future opportunities, thereby reinforcing our mission of "a movement of leaders innovating today to transform tomorrow."
Key Responsibilities
- Foster a vibrant and inclusive community among Fellows, Staff and broader ecosystem stakeholders
- Work collaboratively with teams to design and implement initiatives that deepen the impact on the fellows we serve
- Develop strategic partnerships with global thought leaders, funders, and field innovators to expand Echoing Green's influence and drive social innovation at scale
- Represent Echoing Green publicly, speaking on behalf of the organization and elevating the voices and work of its Fellows
- Refine and execute a comprehensive program strategy that aligns with the strategic plan's priorities—particularly in enhancing our Fellows program, field building, and organizational innovation
- Translate survey insights into targeted improvements, addressing identified gaps in capital support (e.g., longer-term funding and follow-on mechanisms) and capacity offerings (e.g., specialized training and mentoring)
- Establish and maintain rigorous impact metrics and dashboards to monitor program effectiveness across capital, community, and capacity dimensions
- Utilize data-driven insights to refine programs continually, ensuring our community offering remains a benchmark of excellence while improving capital and capacity supports
- Lead the design and implementation of a structured prototyping process to pilot new initiatives, drawing on our tradition of internal innovation
- Collaborate with the executive and program teams to refine organizational processes, decision-making frameworks, and talent management practices—ensuring that operational improvements support program delivery and impact
- Support a culture of continuous improvement by integrating feedback loops and innovative practices across all program areas
- Lead change management efforts to embed a global mindset, equity practices, and operational resilience throughout the organization
- Supervise the Managing Director, Programs, who oversees team operations including performance reviews, budgeting, and goal tracking
- Inspire and coach the program team, supporting members' professional development
- Provide feedback, manage performance, and support team well-being
Qualifications
- Minimum of 10 years' experience in social impact, program management, and/or other support roles within social innovation ecosystems
- Demonstrated track record of leading a social enterprise or multi-faceted programs, with an emphasis on strategic planning, impact measurement, and organizational transformation
- Direct lived experience starting and leading a social enterprise strongly preferred
- Strategic Vision & Innovation: Ability to translate high-level strategic goals into actionable program initiatives
- Team Leadership: Demonstrated ability to build and support high-performing, values-aligned teams, with a people-first approach
- Data-Driven Decision Making: Proficiency in analyzing quantitative and qualitative feedback to drive continuous program improvement
- Collaborative Leadership: Experience working cross-functionally and building strong relationships with diverse stakeholders, including Fellows, staff, funders, and field partners
- Change Management: Aptitude for leading organizational change, with a focus on operational efficiency and fostering a culture of innovation
- Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to inspire and engage both internal and external audiences and demonstrated experience amplifying the work and voices of underrepresented communities
- Commitment to Equity: Deep commitment to advancing racial equity, inclusion, and global perspectives in program design and delivery
- Multilingual / Cross Cultural Competence: Fluency in English and any other language; while direct international work experience is not required, experience navigating global contexts or diverse teams is strongly preferred
