The Power of CDFIs: Advancing Mission-Driven Investments in Changing Times

Community Development Financial Institutions (CDFIs) – critical infrastructure in mission investing ecosystems – ensure community centered financial resilience. CDFIs support affordable housing, food access, entrepreneurship, and more by providing flexible and patient capital to individuals, organizations, and businesses in under-resourced communities. CDFIs also offer critical technical assistance and business development and meet the real-time needs of borrowers that strengthen local economies. With changes in funding from the new administration, now is the time for allocators to find ways to partner with, invest in, and support CDFIs.

Join Mission Investors Exchange (MIE) on Monday, April 21, at 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. PT/2:30-4 p.m. ET for a members-only Special Conversation exploring strategies for philanthropic asset owners to support and invest in CDFIs. Panelists will share examples of CDFIs’ work in communities, discuss current needs and priorities given the evolving and uncertain funding environment, and share strategies for foundations and asset owners who want to support main street lending. This will be followed by substantial time for open discussion and Q&A.
