Mission Investing Institute

As Mission Investors Exchange’s signature introductory learning program, our Institute is designed to help philanthropy professionals get started in impact investing or advance their practice.
Presented by MIE in partnership with the National Center for Family Philanthropy, Northern California Grantmakers, and SoCal Grantmakers, the program agenda will include opportunities for participants to learn from leading impact investing professionals, network with industry peers, and apply learnings with fellow philanthropy and finance professionals.
In a hybrid format with both virtual and in-person sessions, the 2023 Institute will cover a range of topics, such as defining impact investing and other key terms, understanding investment approaches, designing and implementing an impact investing portfolio, sourcing and underwriting investments, financially monitoring a portfolio, and measuring social impact.

- Two learning virtual sessions: September 14 and 18 from 10:30am PT/1:30pm ET to 12pm PT/3pm ET.
- Optional, interactive office hours for deeper-dive conversations: September 15 and 19 from 12:30pm PT/3:30pm ET to 2pm PT/5pm ET.
- A two-day, in-person interactive program with networking reception: November 6-7 at The California Endowment in Los Angeles, CA.
