Understanding the Fearless Fund Decision and Settlement
On June 3, 2024, the 11th Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals issued a preliminary injunction towards the Fearless Fund in the American Alliance for Equal Rights v. Fearless Fund case. This injunction currently prohibits the Fearless Fund from distributing grants solely targeted for Black women small business owners as the case proceeds through the Georgia federal courts. This month, a settlement was reached by the parties resulting in the end of the grant program.
In this session, legal experts will give an overview of the decision and settlement, share current implications and best practices, and answer questions about how to navigate your institution’s impact investing work in the context of this case. Attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions and gain additional insights.
