Position Description

The Cambridge Associates Mission-Related Investing (MRI) Practice is dedicated to assisting clients in the broad area of impact and environmental, social, and governance (ESG) investing across asset classes and thematic areas such as climate change and social equity. The MRI Research Team completes extensive due diligence on fund managers across asset classes and identifies best-in-class investment ideas for clients.
 
Cambridge Associates is currently hiring a full-time Investment Analyst to support the MRI Research Team in Boston. The Investment Analyst will conduct research across the spectrum of impact and ESG investing and support investment teams as needed. The Investment Analyst will focus on two responsibilities: (1) research impact and ESG managers across asset classes in coordination with Investment Directors; and (2) support the development of the MRI Team through operational, analytical, and research support.
 
Job Responsibilities
  • Conduct investment manager research and prepare written deliverables  for use by investment directors and clients. Research activities include active participation in meetings with fund managers, reference calls, due diligence project management, and writing deliverables (e.g. notes, memos, and detailed reports).
  • Provide support to Research Investment Directors, which includes quantitative and qualitative research projects in addition to the support and/or leading of investment due diligence processes as assigned.
  • Provide operational support to the Research Team and broader CA client teams that may include data entry/management, updating internal team content, and other ad-hoc requests.
  • Serve as a resource and complete requests for client teams considering or investing in impact and ESG investing strategies.
  • Assist with developing and maintaining internal content related to impact and ESG investing, which could include business development and training materials.
  • Work on additional thematic projects, such as published research reports and PowerPoint presentations, which enhance colleagues’ and clients’ knowledge of relevant topics.

Candidate Requirements

  • 1-2 years of work experience preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree with a record of high academic achievement
  • Demonstrated interest in investing and the capital markets
  • Demonstrated intellectual curiosity
  • Familiarity and keen interest in impact and ESG investing
  • Excellent analytical and quantitative skills, including proficiency in Excel
  • Strong writing capabilities
  • Collaborative, team-player with strong communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and under time pressure
  • Strong project management skills
  • Ability to assign priorities to multiple concurrent, competing requests, while ensuring their integrity, accuracy, completeness, and timeliness
