MIE Virtual Learning Opportunity #11: Social Impact Scorecard: Measuring Beyond Financial ROI
A 'Social Impact Scorecard' has been developed by the Urban Institute and is now being tested in Cleveland, Ohio to help guide governmental and philanthropic development incentives that create wealth for people of color and sustain the entire community rather than benefit a select few.
This scorecard is designed to go well beyond simply measuring financial returns. Affordable housing, promotion of community health, access to good jobs, small business development and broadband connectivity are among the things being measured.
This Virtual Learning Opportunity will discuss how the project grew out of a collaboration involving Urban Institute, Brookings Metropolitan Policy Program, and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, dive into the community engagement process in Cleveland used to develop the scorecard, as well as explain early application of the tool and how likely the tool will be adopted by funders and integrated into everyday practice.
Join Mission Investors Exchange and Urban Institute on Wednesday, February 12, 2020, from 3:00-3:45 PM EST for this Virtual Learning Opportunity.
