Capital for Climate: The Potential of the Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund (GGRF) for Impact Investments
President Biden’s Inflation Reduction Act created a first-of-its-kind, national-scale program: the Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund (GGRF) — a $27 billion investment to mobilize financing and private capital to address the climate crisis, ensure our country’s economic competitiveness, and promote energy independence while delivering lower energy costs and economic revitalization to communities that have historically been left behind.
Join Mission Investors Exchange (MIE) at 10:30 a.m. PT / 1:30 p.m. ET on Jan. 28 for a Virtual Learning Opportunity (VLO) where recipients of GGRF funding and their partners will discuss how investors can leverage this capital for impact. Speakers will discuss potential changes in the landscape of public funding with the new administration and how to continue leveraging GGRF and other public/private partnerships. This VLO will also explore how this funding is being used, and how impact investors can leverage and support this capital in their own communities. Speakers will dive into examples of capacity building investments that can help scaffold the infrastructure and ecosystem needed to deploy GGRF funding as well as examples of co-investment opportunities for foundations.
