Between the Lines: Comms Pros Making a Difference in Impact Metrics & Measurement
How can foundation marcom and impact measurement & management (IMM) teams collaborate to advance their organization’s impact investing priorities? This Mission Investors Exchange (MIE) Communications Professionals Gathering will explore best practices for translating complex investment data into compelling narratives that inspire funders, grantees, and other key stakeholders.
We’ll discuss:
- Successful collaborations between marcom and IMM teams in foundations
- Strategies for making impact reports and investment frameworks accessible to board members, donors, and policymakers
- The role of both data-driven storytelling and qualitative case studies in demonstrating investment impact
- Tools and platforms for visualizing and sharing impact investing data effectively
- How IMM professionals can support communications teams in responding to media inquiries and aligning impact reports with a foundation’s broader narrative
Hear from MIE members who have successfully bridged the gap between data and storytelling — helping to build confidence in impact investments and mobilize more capital toward change. We encourage members to bring their favorite data visualization tools, example impact reports, and impact measurement frameworks to share with the group.

About the MIE Communications Professionals Gathering:
MIE's Communications Professionals Gatherings are routine opportunities to exchange resources, build community, and have productive discussions that leverage our member’s collective talents to continue building the field of impact investing. These informal sessions provide space to connect, exchange information, and learn together. All are welcome, but the discussions are geared for communications, marketing, and creative professionals, broadly defined. We are thrilled that more than 100 individuals joined us for these events in 2024. Our sessions are not recorded due to the informal and community building nature of the calls. MIE does not provide investment or legal advice. Please view our code of conduct regarding educational events. If there's a topic you would like to hear more about in the future, please contact Jennifer Trivelli.
If you have questions or challenges with registration, or if you are not an MIE member and would like to inquire about membership, please contact Madeline Moerk at [email protected].
