Institutions and people will take actions so that systematically marginalized people and minorities are able to assert sovereignty over their own bodies and futures, and lay full claim to quality healthcare, capital, and power. As a result, our society and the communities within it will be thriving with people of color at the helm.
To achieve this, systemically privileged institutions– beginning with the Tara Health Foundation– must let go of their historically unjust status, capital, and power. The vision of the Tara Health Foundation is that institutions and people must take actions to relinquish capital and power at the intersection of health, economic power, rights, safety, and education. This practice must be widely incorporated into public policy and all sectors so that racism and sexism in the US are eradicated.
The vision of Dallas Women’s Foundation (the Foundation) is that all women and girls will possess the dignity, skills and resources to be strong, independent, self-sufficient and contributing members of the community. Since 2016, Upstart Co-Lab has framed the creative economy as an impact investing priority, garnered international attention for impact investing in the creative economy, and directly connected more than $17 million of impact capital with creative economy opportunities. Upstart’s research has shown that the creative economy offers investors impact value, commercial viability, and innovative edge; correlates with diversity, equity, inclusion; and is relevant in both developed and developing markets. The W. O’Neil Foundation is a tax-exempt family foundation, which primarily funds faith-motivated programs that directly bring basic necessities, such as food, clothing, shelter, basic medical care and basic education to those living in poverty throughout the world, particularly those needing emergency relief. In the pursuit of our philanthropic goals, we are shifting our investment strategy to increase our use of mission-related and impact investing.
