The F.B. Heron Foundation was created in 1992 with the mission of helping people and communities to help themselves. Recently, Heron has been changing its strategy to advance this mission as well as the organization of its operations. Because we continue to iterate on these fundamental issues, these guidelines should be viewed as a "work in progress."
The mission of the Max M. & Marjorie S. Fisher Foundation is to enrich humanity by strengthening and empowering children and families in need. While remaining flexible in their approach they give priority to: Providing for the needs of and ensuring the future of the Jewish people and to respecting their legacy and commitment to the Detroit community. Areas of critical importance include education, arts & culture and health with particular attention to HIV/AIDS.
The Nathan Cummings Foundation is rooted in the Jewish tradition and committed to democratic values and social justice, including fairness, diversity, and community. The mission of the Northwest Area Foundation is to support efforts by the people, organizations of their eight-state region to reduce poverty and achieve sustainable prosperity.
