We believe in the resiliency of our Hawaiian children. We advocate and work towards systemic change for their wellbeing and build them pathways to thriving lives. OUR MISSION SPENDING IS SET TO DOUBLE IN THE NEXT DECADE. WE PLAN TO EXPAND UPON OUR CURRENT SERVICE (DIRECT SERVICE AND SMALL PROGRAMS) TO ALSO INCLUDE BROADER SYSTEMS LEVEL CHANGE, PROGRAM RELATED INVESTMENTS, AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT. TO THIS END, WE HOPE TO NETWORK WITH OTHER FOUNDATIONS WITH WHOM WE CAN LEARN AND/OR PARTNER WITH ON OUR JOURNEY TOWARDS ENDING THE CYCLE OF POVERTY FOR NATIVE HAWAIIAN FAMILIES
Strive to improve the quality of life for the people of Hawaii by working toward sustainable solutions that support and promote locally produced food, renewable energy, clean transportation, and better management of water and waste.
We are 100% mission focused so all resources and funds deployed have some connection, either direct or indirect, to advancing our mission forward. Our strategy and focus areas are driven by systems mapping to try and understand the highest impact areas that best align with our skill-set. We are able to utilize for-profit investments, philanthropic grants, research, strategic communications as well as advocacy and government affairs to advance our mission.
Unleashing capital and kindness to nurture ideas and build healthy, sustainable communities. The Untours Foundation works to alleviate poverty by providing low-interest loans to social entrepreneurs and businesses here, across the United States, and around the world. Our capital creates employment and valuable goods and services in economically impoverished communities. We seek to fuel projects that are leading-edge, replicable, and green. By investing rather than giving grants, the Foundation recycles its resources, making capital available again and again to visionary investees. We also advocate for mission-aligned investing in order to more broadly build a just and environmentally sustainable global economy.

In order to achieve this mission and advance equity, the Foundation will use a number of different strategies:
Provide grants and other support designed to improve the capacity and effectiveness of nonprofit organizations working in the areas of health, human services, and education for people and communities who currently face the most obstacles to opportunity.
Give highest priority to organizations working to provide greater access, resources, and opportunities in low-income communities, including for those whose race, gender, immigration status, disability, age, sexual orientation, or zip code has prevented them from realizing the dignities and liberties all people deserve.
Through our responsive and initiative grantmaking, focus greater attention on critical issues that are associated with the growing imbalance of opportunity in Southern California, including: child welfare, immigrant integration, workforce development, re-entry, homelessness, youth development, and public education.
Exercise leadership on issues that strengthen and support the ability of nonprofit organizations to achieve their missions and desired outcomes. This includes advocating for programs, policies, and services that address the needs of communities most lacking in opportunity and access.
